Eligibility of age limit for appointment, nomination, co-option in various authorities and in various offices

²[8A.

1. (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations and Rules, no person shall be appointed, nominated or, as the case may be, co-opted,-
   • (i) on the post of officers reffered to in clause (iii),
   • (iv) and
   • (v) of section 8;
   • (ii) on the post of teacher ; or
   • (iii) as a member of any of the authorities of the University, any committee or any other body thereof after he attains the age of 62 years: Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to the Chairman or a member of any of the authorities of the University, committee or any other body thereof, who holds the Chairmanship or membership by virtue of his office as a Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor or, as the case may be, the Pro-Vice- Chancellor.
2. (2) Any person who has been appointed on the posts referred to in clause
   • (i) and
   • (ii) of sub-section
3. (1) or nominated or co-opted as a member of any of the authorities of the University, any committee or any other body thereof, shall cease to hold his office as sush or, as the case may be, to be a member after attaining the age of 62 years.]
