Functions of the Executive Council.

The Executive Council shall discharge the following functions, namely:— (i) to take decision on the matters of appointment, from time to time, of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and other members of the teaching staff, as may be necessary, on the basis of the recommendations of Selection Committee(s). The Executive Council may seek the opinion of Academic Council, in regard to the number, qualifications and emoluments of teachers: Provided that it shall not be necessary to constitute any selection committee for making appointments on the post of,— (a) the Director-in-Chief and/or Director(s); or
