Teaching of the Institute
The IIIT (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology) - Delhi Act, 2007All recognized teaching in the Institute shall be conducted by or in the name of the Institute in accordance with the Statutes and Ordinances. (1) The Institute shall be open to persons of either sex and of whatever race, creed, caste or class, and it shall not be lawful for the Institute to adopt or impose on any person any test whatsoever of religious belief or profession or politital opinion in order to entitle him to be appointed as a teacher of the Institute or to hold any other office therein of to be admitted as a student of the Institute, or to graduates thereat, or to enjoy or exercise any privilege thereof. (2) The Institute shall be open to students of any nationality and these may be admitted in a manner so prescribed; (3) Nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent the Institute from making any special provision for the appointment or admission of women or of persons belonging to the weaker sections of the society, and in particular, of persons belonging to the Scheduled Cafes and the Scheduled Tribes.
