Transitional provisions

Notwithstanding any thing contained ih this Act and the Statute; (a) The State Government shall appoint an officer cin special duty for a term not ex~eding two years. The terms and conditions of .the officer on ~ial duty shall be stated in_ his letter of appointm~rit; (b) The officer 0 t; .sp~cial duty shall have p9wers of Kulpati; (c) the first ExeCL•:ive Council shall consist of not more than fifteen mem-bers who sh~ll be nominated by the Kuladhipati on the advice of the State Government and they shall hold office for a term of three years; and (d) (i) the first planning Board shall consist of not more than eleven members who shall _be_nominated by the Kuladhipati on the advice of the State Govenimei:it and they shall hold office for a term of three ye?fs; (ii)the planning Board shail, in addition ~o the pow.ers and functions _b;mferred o!j it by this Act, ex_ercise the powers of the.Academic C9uncil and the Board of Studies until the- Academic Council and the''Board of Studies are constituted under the provisioris of 1his Act and-the Statutes, and in the exercise of suchpowers, the Plqnning Boar1 may co-opt such m~~bers as it may~ d~cide.
