CHAPTER-XXIII BOARD OF VISITORS

66. The State Government shall, by notification, constitute a Board of Visitors comprising Official and Non-official members. The task of the Board of Visitors shall include:-

1. (1) Monitoring correctional work, with special attention to the degree and quality of the effectiveness of infrastructure/ facilities in the prisons.
2. (2) Suggesting new avenues leading to improvement in correctional work.
3. (3) Going into individual or collective grievances of inmates and providing redressal in consultation with the prison authorities
