42. Prisoners with children

Statutory text

(1) Male Prisoners may keep their male children and Female Prisoners may keep their male and female children inside the prison until the child attains the age of six
(6) years.
(2) A child living with his father/mother in a prison may be provided with health care and such other facilities, as may be prescribed under the rules.
(3) Specialized programs for the children whose mother/ father is confined in prisons and crossed six
(6) years of age and requires such programs may be taken up.
