Establishment of University

(1) A University by the name of Himalayiya University shall be established by the Sponsoring Body in Dehradun in the State of Uttarakhand. (2) The University shall be a body corporate. (3) The headquarters of the University shall be at Fatehpur Tanda, Jivanwala, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. (4) The Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, and members of the Managing Board, Board of Management, and Academic Council, while holding said positions in the University established as such, may sue and be sued in the name of the University. (5) Land, buildings and other properties acquired for the University shall not be used for any purpose other than that for which they were acquired. (6) The minimum standards prescribed from time to time by the UGC and other concerned Statutory/Regulatory bodies shall be followed in respect of all courses, faculty, land, buildings and other infrastructural facilities, financial viability, etc., run by the University. (7) Upon the establishment of the University, the land and other movable and immovable assets acquired, constructed, organized or created by the University for the purpose of the University, except the assets of the Society Himalayiya Ayurvedic Yoga and Naturopathy Institute, shall be transferred to and vest in the University. (8) The University shall not provide its programs to private institutions through a franchising arrangement, even if the courses are to be run through distance education mode. (9) The University shall comply with the University Grants Commission (Establishment of and Maintenance of Standards in Private Universities) Regulation, 2003 and amendments made therein from time to time. (10) The University shall comply with the University Grants Commission (Open and Distance Learning Mode) Regulation, 2017 and amendments made therein from time to time. (11) The University shall only confer such degree as specified by the University Grants Commission and published in the Official Gazette. (12) The University shall run its first degree and master's degree programs in accordance with the regulations notified by the University Grants Commission.
