Family Pension

(1) If any sitting member dies during the period of membership, then his dependent shall be entitled to receive fifty percent of the pension amount payable to him calculated on the basis of his membership period as family pension. (2) If any ex-member dies, then his dependent shall be entitled to receive fifty percent of the pension amount payable to him as family pension. Explanation-1- Regarding dependent of member and ex-member means with residing and fully dependent on him, his husband or his wife, minor son, un-married daughter, father or mother in order of preference. Explanation-2- “Ex-member” means such member who is getting pension from Uttarakhand Assembly Secretariat. Provided that on death of such ex members who represented the area of Uttarakhand in the Legislative Assembly/Council of the State of Uttarakhand or Uttar Pradesh, his/her dependent shall be entitled a minimum Rupees twenty thousand family pension from the Legislative Assembly secretariat of the State of Uttarakhand.
