The Registrar

(i) The Registrar shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Syndicate on the recommendation of a Committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman, two nominees of the Syndicate, a nominee of the Chancellor and a nominee of the State Government. He shall be appointed for such period and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the statutes; (ii) The Registrar may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice-Chancellor; (iii) If the Registrar is for any reason temporarily unable to exercise the powers or perform the duties of his office, the Vice-Chancellor may, with the approval of the Syndicate, appoint a teacher of the University or an officer of the University temporarily for a total period not exceeding six months to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Registrar.
