The Pro-Vice-Chancellor

(i) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor will be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor and shall exercise such powers and performs such functions as may be described below: a. The Pro Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst the senior Professors of the University and who will discharge his / her duties in addition to his duties as a Professor. b. Provided that the Vice-Chancellor may, with the prior approval of the Chancellor, appoint any person, who is or has been principal of a Post graduate college, and is not over 70 years of age, as Pro Vice-Chancellor on emoluments and terms and conditions as may be determined by the Trust. The age of retirement of Pro Vice-Chancellor will be 70 years. c. The Pro Vice-Chancellor shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in discharging day to day duties as and when required by the Vice-Chancellor. He shall preside over represent the Vice-Chancellor in the meetings of the University authorities in absence of the Vice-Chancellor and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned or delegated to him / her by the Vice-Chancellor. (ii) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor appointed under sub-section (1) shall discharge his duties in addition to his duties as a Professor. (iii) The Pro-Vice Chancellor shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in discharging day-to-day duties as and when required by the Vice-Chancellor.
