Establishment of State Council

State Government shall by notification constitute a State Council for the purposes of this Act. With effect from such date as may be appointed by the State Government by such notification, the State Council, shall consist of the following members, namely: (1) Secretary, Health & Family Welfare - Chairperson; (2) Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine - Member Secretary; (3) An officer, not below the rank of a Joint Director, Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine - Ex-officio, Member; (4) Registrar-cum-Secretary, State Medical Council of Tripura - Member; (5) Registrar, State Nursing Council of Tripura - Member; (6) Registrar, State Homeopathic Council of Tripura - Member; (7) Branch Officer of the Directorate of each District - Member; (8) Indian Medical Association, Tripura State Branch - Member. (i) The duration of the State council shall be for a term of three years. (ii) If any vacancy arises due to expiry or absence of any member, then Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine with prior approval of Government may nominate any other officer of the Directorate to fill the vacancy.
