Amendment of section 33 of Assam Act I of 1929

9. In sub-section (1) of section 33 of the said Act for the words “An occupancy raiyat may institute a suit for the reduction of rent”, the following words shall be substituted, namely:— "An occupancy jotedar or an occupancy raiyat may claim reduction of rent either by a suit or in a defence in a suit for arrears of rent."
