Bare Act
The Tamil Nadu State Wakf Board (Validation of Functions of Special Officer) Act, 1975
This Act validates decisions and legal actions taken by the Special Officer for the Tamil Nadu State Wakf Board between November 1970 and July 1971. During this period, administrative transitions left the legal authority of the Special Officer open to challenge. The legislation retroactively confirms the officer's power to issue directions, establish management schemes, appoint or remove property managers, and initiate legal proceedings. It also allows courts to reopen suits that were previously dismissed simply because the Special Officer lacked recognized jurisdiction at the time. By legalizing these actions, the law ensures continuity, stability, and administrative legitimacy for Islamic charitable endowments across Tamil Nadu.
