Amendment of Madras City Police Act, 1888

(1) If the provisions of this Act have been applied to the City of Madras by a notification under sub-section (3) of section 1, section 28 of the Madras City Police Act, 1888, shall after the expiry of three months from the date of such application and so long as such notification is in force, have effect as if the word "pawnbroker" occurring in four places therein and the words "in pawn" were omitted. (2) Nothing contained in this Act shall be deemed to exempt pawnbrokers from the operation of section 66 of the Madras City Police Act, 1888.
