Redemption of pledge

(1) Every pledge shall be redeemable within one year from the date of pawning, exclusive of that day ; and there shall be added to that year of redemption seven days of grace within which every pledge shall continue to be redeemable. (2) A pledge shall further continue to be redee- mable until it is disposed of as provided in this Act, although the period of redemption and days of grace have expired. Explanation.--Where tbe contract between the paties provides a longer period for redemption t h n one year, the rovisions pf this section shall be read and construe as if refer s to such longer period had been substituted for t e references to the period of one year therein. In section 18 of the principal Act,- (1) in sub-section (I), for the words " ona huadrad rupoos", tho wmds '' two thousand rupees " shall be substituted ; (2) i'd sub-section (2), for the words "ten rupees", the words " dfty rupoes" aball be substituted.
