Chapter I PRELIMINARY

(1) Whoever contravenes, any of the provisions of this Act, rules, orders or directions issued thereunder or bye-laws shall, at the instance of the association or an apartment owner or any person or the competent authority, on conviction be liable to a fine which may extend to one lakh rupees and in case of continuing contravention, to an additional fine which may extend to five hundred rupees for every day during which such contravention continues after the conviction.
(2) The provisions of this section shall apply without prejudice to the provisions contained in sections 9, 19 and 22.
