Black-listing of travel agents.
The Sikkim Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1998(1) The prescribed authority may, on proof of any complaint of malpractice or for any other offence committed under this Act, for reasons to be recorded, black-list a travel agent after taking into consideration the nature of malpractice of the gravity of offence, for such period as the prescribed authority deem fit. (2) The particulars of a travel agent black-listed shall be exhibited at conspicuous places and notified to all travel, trade and other concerned organisations, foreign missions in India and Indian missions abroad. (3) Notwithstanding action taken under sub-section (1) the travel agent shall be liable to be prosecuted under the provisions of law if deemed necessary.
