Bare Act
The Rajasthan Goods (Control of Production, Supply, Distribution and Trade and Commerce) Act, 2014
This legislation empowers the Rajasthan State Government to declare specific goods in the public interest and control their production, supply, distribution, pricing, and trade. It applies across the State of Rajasthan to commercial entities, producers, traders, and individuals handling notified non-essential goods, excluding central essential commodities or defense products regulated by Parliament. The law enables authorities to prevent hoarding, enforce fair pricing, mandate sales to government agents, inspect premises, and confiscate illegal stocks or transport vehicles. By deterring artificial shortages and market exploitation through strict penalties and administrative oversight, it safeguards public access to essential commercial goods.
