Vacation of seats of persons elected to both houses of the Punjab Legislature.

(1) Any pcrson who is chosen a member of both the Punjab Legislative Assernbl y and [he Punjab Legislative Council and who has not taken his seat in eilhcr House may, by noticc in writing signed by him and delivered to ihe Chief Elcc~oral Officer, Punjab or any person authorised by him in this bchalf within ten days from the daic of publication in the Punjab Government Gazette of the declarations that he has bcen so choscn. or, if such publications have bcen made on different dates, within ten days from the later of such dates. jn~irnate in which of the Houses he wishes to servc, and thereupon his seat in the House in which he does not wish to serve shall become vdcanr.

(2) In default of such inrimation within the aforesaid period, his scat in thc Punjah Legislative Council shall, :it the espiralion of that period, become vacant.

(3) Any intimation given under sub-scction (1) shall be final and irrevocable.
