Short title, extent and commencement.

1. (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Seourity of Land Tenures Act, 1953.
2. (2) It shall come into force at once,
3. (3) It shall extend to the whole of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Save as elsewhere expressly provided in this Act nothing contained therein shall apply to co-operative garden colonies which were registered before the coming into force of this Act.
