This Act gives security of tenure to tenants in Punjab and limits how much land a landowner can hold. Landowners can reserve a limited area for their own cultivation, must file declarations of their holdings, and land above the permissible area is dealt with under the Act. It protects tenancies from ending and limits when tenants can be ejected.
