Acquisition of proprietory rights
The Punjab Bhudan Yagna Act, 1955Any person holding land as a Bhudan holder for ten years continuously in accordance with the provisions of this Act shall, at the expiry of the said period, acquire proprietory rights of the said land and the title and interest of the Board in the said land shall cease. Entry to the acquisition of such proprietory rights shall have to be made in village papers or record-of-rights : Provided that no person shall transfer or sell any interest in such land for a period of ten years after acquiring the proprietory rights: Provided further that a person may sell or transfer the land in question after a period of ten years having acquired the proprietory rights in very rare cases where the Collector or Deputy Commissioner of the district concerned is satisfied that the difficulty is genuine.
