Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (5 of 1898), an offence punishable under sub-section (1) of section 8 shall be cognizable and non-bailable. This clause lays down that offences punishable under sub-section (1) of section 8 shall be cognizable and non-bailable.
