Statutory text

(1) Any applicant aggrieved by a decision of the Designated Officer within thirty days from the receipt of such decision, may prefer an appeal to the Competent Authority: Provided that the Competent Authority may admit the appeal after the expiry of the period of thirty days, if, it is satisfied that the Appellant was prevented by sufficient cause from filing the appeal in time.
(2) In its decision, the Competent Authority shall have the power to:-
- (a) Reject the appeal.
- (b) Give any suitable directions to the Designated Officer.
- (c) Impose any of the penalties provided under this Act;
