Probation Period

The OfTcers appointed to the Service shall remain on probation for one year in the case of Promotees and two years in the case of direct recruits : Provided that Government may extend the period of probation as they may deem fit and also remove a promoted officer or discharge an officer directly recruited from service during or at the end of the period of probation (including the period by which it may have been extended) if his out-turn is not satisfactory or he is found otherwise unfit for permanent appointment.
