In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "Board" means the Kerala Bamboo, Kattuvally and Pandanus Leaf Workers Welfare Fund Board constituted under section 6; (b) "Chief Executive Officer" means the Chief Executive Officer appointed under section 9; (c) "contribution" means the contribution payable by the employee and the employer to the fund under the scheme; (d) "employee" means any person who is employed for wages in any work in connection with the bamboo, kattuvally and pandanus leaf industry; (e) "employer" means any person who employs either directly or through another person, or in any other manner whatsoever, one or more employees in any work in connection with the bamboo, kattuvally and pandanus leaf industry; (f) "Fund" means the Welfare Fund established under the scheme; (g) "Member" means a member of the Fund; (h) "Scheme" means the scheme framed under this Act; (i) "State" means the State of Kerala; (j) "wages" means all remuneration capable of being expressed in terms of money, which would, if the terms of contract of employment, express or implied, were fulfilled, be payable to an employee in respect of his employment or of work done in such employment, and includes notice pay and wages for leave period, but does not include the value of any house accommodation, or of supply of light, water, medical attendance or other amenity or of any service excluded by general or special order of the Government.
