Power to issue directions

The Chancellor may either suo moto or on the recommendation of the Government, issue such directions as may be necessary or expedient in the interest of both administration and academic functioning of the University and in particular to ensure peace and tranquillity and to protect the property and finances. Subject to the provisions in statutes, ordinances and regulations made for the purpose every other officer or employee of the University shall be appointed under a written contract setting out the conditions of service as prescribed by the regulations which shall be lodged with the University and a copy thereof furnished to the officer or the employee concerned.
