Tenure of office of members

Tenure of office of members.-The members of the Council shall hold office for a term of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment ; Provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the term of office of the members of the first Council established under this Act after the commencement of the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Registration (Amendment) Act, 1966, shall, unless a shorter period is specified by the Government, be for a period of four years.
