This Act deals with cattle that trespass on land and damage crops or public property in Jammu and Kashmir. It provides for pounds and pound-keepers, who register and feed seized cattle. Cattle damaging land, roads, canals or embankments can be seized and impounded, and the owner must pay fines to get them back. Unclaimed cattle can be sold.
