Penalty for offences

Whoever contravenes any provision of this Act, or any rule made thereunder, or any order made or direction given under this Act, or obstructs the lawful exercise of any power conferred by or under this Act, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, and when the offence is a continuing breach, further fine which may extend to fifty rupees for every day after the first during which the offence continues.
