District Armed Reserves and State Armed Police Battalions

In order to assist the civil police promptly and efficiently in dealing with acts involving or likely to involve breach of the peace or breakdown of law and order and also to assist in management of disasters, the State Government shall create Armed Police units with appropriate manpower strengths in the form of an Armed Police Reserve for each Police district, and appropriate number of Armed Police for the State, including provision of women units, and recruitment to such Armed Police shall be made in accordance with the Recruitment and Promotion Rules framed by the State Government.
