Provided that the Chairman may resign his office by a letter addressed to the Government and his resignation shall take effect from the date on which it is accepted by the Government.

Disabilities for continuing as member If any member during the period for which he has been nominated or elected-

1. (a) absents himself without such reasons, as may, in the opinion of the Council, be sufficient, from three consecutive meetings of the Council, or
2. (b) becomes subject to any of the disqualifications mentioned in section 10, or
3. (c) being a legal practitioner, appears in any suit or proceedings civil or criminal, against the Council, or
4. (d) obtains any employment under the Council or has without the previous sanction of the Government acquired directly or indirectly by himself or by a partner any share or interest in any contract made with, by, or on behalf of the Council, the Council may declare his office to be vacant:
