Bare Act

The Gujarat Statutory Bodies Laws (Amendment and Validation) Act, 1999

General19994 of 3 sections available

This Act validates the acts and proceedings of certain statutory bodies performed during a specific period when the members' terms had expired, thereby preventing legal challenges regarding the validity of these decisions. It amends several existing laws listed in the Schedule, including the Gujarat State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976. The legislation ensures that all actions, appointments, orders, and orders taken by these bodies up until the Act's commencement are considered fully valid and enforceable. By doing so, it removes the cloud of potential illegality that might otherwise have hung over administrative decisions made during the interim period between the expiry of terms and the Act taking effect.
