Definitions.
The Gujarat Municipalities (Extension of Term) Act, 1962In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "municipality" means a municipality constituted or deemed to be constituted under any relevant municipal law; (b) "relevant municipal law" means— (i) the Bombay District Municipal Act, 1901, as in force in the Bombay area of the State of Gujarat; (ii) the Bombay Municipal Boroughs Act, 1925, as in force in the Bombay area of the State of Gujarat; (iii) the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949, as in force in the Bombay area of the State of Gujarat; (iv) the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1922, as in force in the Vidarbha region of the State of Bombay as transferred to the State of Gujarat; (v) the Saurashtra District Municipal Act, 1956; (vi) the Saurashtra Municipal Corporation Act, 1956; or (vii) the Hyderabad District Municipalities Act, 1956, as in force in the Marathwada region of the State of Bombay as transferred to the State of Gujarat.
