(See section 23) (1) In section 5, in sub-section (1), for the words "every owner", the words "every Government Officer-in-charge" shall be substituted. (2) In section 14, in sub-section (2),- (i) for the words begining with the words "the owner of every building" and ending with the words "in such building", the following shall be substituted, namely:- "for every building in which a lift or an escalator has been installed by Government, the Government or"; (ii) for the words "appointed by the owner" the words "appointed by the Government" shall be substituted. (3) In section 21, in sub-section (1), for clause (a), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "(a) where Government is the addressee, at the office of the agent appointed by Government under sub-section (2) of section 14". 1.
