Deans of Faculties

1. (1) There shall be a Dean for each faculty of the University instituted under section 29.
2. (2) The Dean of a Faculty shall be the Chairman of the Board of Studies of that Faculty and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the faithful observance of the Statutes and Regulations relating to the faculty and for the organisation and conduct of the teaching, and in carrying out his responsibilities for the organisation and conduct of these functions he shall work in close liaison with other officers including the Directors of Research and Extension Education and shall generally work through the Heads of the Departments of the faculty.
3. (3) The Deans of Faculties shall have such other duties and perform such other functions as may be necessary for the proper functioning of the work of their respective faculties as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
