Compulsion to appear as witness.

Compulsion to appear as witness.— Every employee or officer of the Government, Government Corporation, Government undertaking, etc. shall be duty bound to appear as a witness whenever called upon to do so by a police officer or a Special Officer or the Director or the Competent Authority in any proceeding under this Act. Any refusal or non-adherence to appear as witness shall be an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month and a fine which may extend to Rs. 10,000/-.
