Establishment of regions
The Madhya Pradesh Town and Country Planning Act, 1973(1) The State Government may, by notification: (a) declare any area in the State to be a region for the purposes of this Act; (b) define the limits of such area; and (c) specify the name by which such region shall be known. (2) The State Government may, by notification, change the name of any such area and upon such change taking place, any reference to the region in any law or instrument or other document shall be deemed to be a reference to the region as so re-named, unless the context otherwise requires. (3) The State Government may, by notification: (a) alter the limits of any region so as to include therein or to exclude therefrom such area as may be specified in the notification; (b) amalgamate two or more regions so as to form one region; (c) split up any region into two or more regions; or (d) declare that the whole or any part of the area which formed a region shall cease to be a region or part thereof.
