Bare Act
The Chhattisgarh Lok Sewa Guarantee Act, 2011
The Chhattisgarh Lok Sewa Guarantee Act, 2011 guarantees citizens the legal right to receive notified public services within specified time limits. It covers government departments, local bodies, municipal entities, panchayats, and state-funded agencies across Chhattisgarh. Public authorities must designate officers to deliver services and provide mandatory written acknowledgments for applications. If a designated officer fails to deliver a service on time without valid grounds, an appointed Competent Officer can impose a daily cost on that officer, which is paid directly to the citizen as compensation. This law empowers ordinary citizens by holding public officials accountable for administrative delays and ensuring predictable service delivery.
