Responsibilities under this Act, together with powers to be delegated selectively to appropriate Chief Engineers, PWD and Chief Engineers, RWD respectively.

Power and functions of State Road Authority : Subject to the provisions of this Act, State road authority shall have the following powers and functions : (a)to execute road development schemes; (b)to control ribbon development; (c)to prevent and remove encroachment; (d)to exercise such powers and functions as necessary and incidental to any or all of the above matters, and (e)to exercise such other powers and functions as may be prescribed.
