Liabilities for damages etc.—Where a person fails to deliver possession of the demised plot within the time specified in the order referred to in sub-section

1. (1) of section 6, he shall be in addition to any penalty to which he is liable under this Act, be also liable for payment of damages or mesne profits for each day of such unauthorised occupation from the date of expiry of the period specified in the said order till the date of delivering possession of the demised plot.
