Relief in case of hardship.—Where the Government are satisfied on an application made by a person whose lease is terminated under this Act that in the circumstances of the case the termination of lease has resulted in undue hardship they may, without prejudice to the public interest, allow such person to continue in the demised plot or any part thereof as a licence for such period, on payment of such rent and subject to such conditions as they may specify.
