Research

1. (1) The University may establish and maintain one or more Horticultural/Agricultural Experiment Stations for research, both fundamental and applied in all faculties, in addition to the maintenance of institutions which stand transferred to the University
2. (2) Subject to the provisions of this Act, research programmes in the University shall carry on research (fundamental as well as applied) on the problems in the fields of Horticulture and other allied sciences for the purpose of aiding the development of “Horticulture” and for the benefit of rural population in the State
3. (3) The University through its research organizations shall be the principal agency of control over research activities in the Horticulture and other allied branches in the State.
4. (4) The existing research organization and experimental stations along with the facilities and budget in the field of Horticulture and allied branches in the Government Departments shall be transferred to the University with effect from such date as the Government may notify.
5. (5) The University may establish Regional/Zonal research Stations and substations in different agro-climatic zones of the State for the conduct of research including operational research
