He shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by the Statutes.

Dean of a Faculty or School

1. (1) There shall be Dean of Faculty / School who shall be appointed by the Executive Council from among the senior teachers holding the post of Professor in a department of teaching in the Faculty / School concerned.

3. (3) years from the date of his appointment or until he or she superannuates, whichever is earlier.

(4) In the temporary absence of a Dean or pending the filling up of the vacancy caused in any manner, the Vice-Chancellor may, until such time as the appointment is made, nominate a senior Professor in the Faculty / School concerned to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Dean provided that such temporary arrangement shall not exceed three
