Chancellor
The Sardar Bhagwan Singh University Act, 2016(1) The Chancellor shall be appointed by the Managing Committee of the Society by such person of eminence as may be prescribed by the Statutes. (2) The Chancellor shall hold office during the pleasure of the Society. (3) The Chancellor may resign his office by a writing under his hand addressed to the Society. (4) Subject to the provisions of this section, the Chancellor shall hold office for a period of three years from the date of his assumption of office and shall be eligible for re-appointment: Provided that the Chancellor shall continue to hold office even after the expiry of his term until his successor assumes office. (5) The Chancellor shall, by virtue of his office, be the head of the University and shall constitute the interim Executive Council. (6) The Chancellor shall preside over the convocation of the University held for conferring degrees, if present.
