Preparation of Master Plan

(1) After determining the geographical area development plan done earlier, the Authority shall prepare or cause to be prepared a master plan for the overall sustainable development of the river valley as soon as possible. (2) The master plan shall: (a) Determine the carrying capacity of the basin; (b) Delineate such various areas (sectors) in which various development projects are to be run and also mention the methods of development for each area and the phases in which such development projects will be run; (c) Prepare an outline of development plans including alternative plans for the development of the basin; (d) Demarcate land for various uses and purposes; (e) Work on the basic pattern within which the development plans will be prepared. (3) The master plan shall make provisions for other such matters as may be determined necessary for the sustainable development of the river valley.
