The Tripura Requisition and Control of Vehicles Act, 2011

This law allows the government of the state of Tripura to requisition or take control of vehicles during emergencies, for disaster management, to maintain public order, or to ensure essential services and goods are transported safely. If the government needs a vehicle for these purposes, it may issue a written order to the owner or publish it in the official Gazette, and if necessary, seize it from whoever has possession. The owner is entitled to fair compensation based on the vehicle’s value and any income lost during the requisition period, and they may appeal the decision to a higher authority within seven days.
