Whoever-

1. (i) destroys, removes, injures, alters, defaces, imperils or misuses a protected monument; or
2. (ii) being the owner or occupier of a protected monument, contravenes an order made under sub-section

1. (1) of Section 8 or under sub-section
2. (1) of Section 9, shall be punishable with imprisonment, which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.
