Power of Government in respect of awards
The Tripura Agricultural Workers Act, 1986(1) If the Government is of opinion that it is inexpedient on public grounds effecting national economy or social justice to give effect to the whole or any part of an award referred to in sub-section (5) of section 15, it may by Notification in the official Gazette declare that the award shall not become enforceable on the expiry of the period mentioned in sub-section (7) of the said section. (2) Where any declaration has been made in relation to an award under sub-section (1), the Government may within thirty days from the date of publication of the award under sub-section (6) of section 15 make an order rejecting or modifying the award and such order shall be published in the official Gazette. (3) Where no order has been passed by the Government under sub-section (2), the award shall become enforceable on the expiry of the period of thirty days mentioned in that sub-section. (4) Where an order has been made by the Government under sub-section (2), the award shall not be enforceable or, as the case may be, the award as modified shall be enforceable on the expiry of a period of five days from the date of publication of such order in the official Gazette.
