Bye-Laws and penalties for their breach.
The Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and of any other law and to such rules as may be prescribed, a Gram Panchayat may, with the approval of the Commissioner, make bye-laws for carrying out any of the purposes for which it is constituted.
(2) A bye-law made by the Gram Panchayat may provide that any person who commits a breach thereof shall be liable to pay by way of penalty such sum as may be fixed by the Gram Panchayat not exceeding Rs. 5,000, or in case of a continuing breach, not exceeding Rs. 100 for every day during which the breach continues after a penalty has been levied for the breach.
(3) The Government shall have power to make rules regarding the procedure for the making of bye-laws, the publication thereof and the date on which they shall come into effect.
